WEDDING PARTY - BRIDESMAIDS
I first met Diana when we sat next to each other in our 9th grade English class. Both of us are devoted tennis players and played on the courts for countless hours during the four years of high school. In and out of the courts, we had plenty of laughs, stories, and food together, all of which made those years so memorable! Despite leaving the island to pursue my college studies, I return whenever I can so that our group of friends can reunite with a BBQ at the beach and play tennis late into the night. Diana is currently a nurse at Queen's Medical Center in Hawaii, and, when she is not working, she is busy with planning for her own wedding next summer!
Fei is one the smartest people I know! English has always been my weakest subject, and writing like Fei is like me reaching for the stars ;) We first got to know each other when we completed a science project together in 10th grade; we spent hours after school growing bacteria to be extremophiles. We joined geeky clubs (parlez vous francais?), took all the AP classes together (except English...), hung out under the plumeria tree near our landmark "cafeteria dumpster", and sleep over at each other's places. One of the most amazing things is that I can speak "Chinglish" with Fei and we don't even notice our conversation is 50/50 in English and Chinese sometimes. Fei is an optometrist and a newlywed living happily after in San Diego with her husband, Liron!
Risa Ishino
I met Risa in Fresno where we work together at the VA ever since I graduated from pharmacy school. Without Risa, I wouldn't diligently go to the gym or go try out all the good restaurants in town. Risa was there from the very beginning when I first met Michael, and witnessed our relationship sprout and bloom to this day. Together with an awesome group of friends, we hiked at Yosemite, went for water rafting at Kings Canyon, skiing and snowboarding at China Peak, and did hot pots and poker nights at house parties. Risa is a psychiatric pharmacy specialist spearheading the PGY-2 psychiatric pharmacy residency at the Loma Linda VA. She is currently living in Rancho Cucamonga where it seems like people usually just say “Rancho”, but if you keep saying “Cucamonga”, it may become very addictive to say!
